Well it’s a tricky question in itself. What do you carry for your basic self defense?

Humm... let me see.

Now to start with, as we know, in various countries, it is illegal to carry a ballistic weapons such as hand guns, rifles and others as your self defense weapons.

In some countries, it is legal but the formalities are so stringent that it is almost impossible to own one.

Second factor that comes up is the price. Usually it’s a big budget game. So it solely depends on which part of the world you live in and how fat is your pockets.

And in any case, even if you manage to gain access to an armed weapon, are you trained enough to handle it safely? If not, I would suggest you to keep your distance as you won’t be needing someone to hurt you after all :)

Now as for the primary defense weapon, it should be something small, light, strong, sharp and most importantly concealable. Something like a small knife which can be deployed in an instant also keeping in mind its legalities in one's own country or state.

It's important to know that the majority of blades are sharpened on both ends so i would not recommend any common product or otherwise.

For god’s sake! Is there anything I carry? Of course, there are few things that you can carry as your defense use only weapons and they can be an improvised too. I carry few of them myself. Let me share them.

(1.) In my primary arsenal, is a small but effective weapon as i may call it. It’s known as the karambit.

The karambit is a small Southeast Asian curved knife resembling a claw.

It is called karambit in the Philippines, Indonesian and Malay and in most Western countries.

(2.) Stun Gun Torch

It is a usual torch and an electrical device that uses high voltage to stop an attacker. Touching the head prongs of the device quickly immobilizes the attacker. However, because the amperage is very low, no serious or permanent injury is done to the attacker.

The stun torch is designed to attack the nervous system by passing such high pulse frequency into the body that it makes the muscles contract so rapidly that due to this muscle workout the blood sugar is depleted and is converted into lactic acid in seconds. This does not affect the attackers heart or other vital organs.

The instant energy loss makes it almost impossible to move or to function.

(3.) Pepper Spray - when dispersed on attackers face it causes intense burning sensation to eyes, nose, throat and skin. It gives you enough time to react and make your escape.

It is widely being used by law enforcement's around the world to control individual and disperse mass riot crowds. Read more...

(4.) Batons are good when it comes to choosing an small, handy, light and concealable self defense tool. It has a non-lethal force and can be deployed with a flick of a wrist. You should always opt for a military grade baton with a rubber handle for better secured hold.

The choices for the self defense tool or weapons may vary from person to person and the effort, training he or she has put into using that product.

You can always research for more modern equipment's available in the market but believe me, the best and foremost lethal weapon of self defense you have got are your own two hands and your presence of mind.

"Keep yourself fit enough to react instantly to a situation and train your mind good enough to help you make decisions that would save your life. keep training good, keep training hard as someone said - KILL YOURSELF IN TRAINING, SO YOU DON'T DIE FIGHTING."
